Hi Curtis. Sorry for the delay. It's been a few years since I've taught. I'm working in film distribution now, so I unfortunately I don't have a syllabus (new computer; broken old external drive). I can remember that a typical direction I would go after outlining some basics of composition and editing is to oners or long-takes. They really help students grapple with the mechanics of putting a scene together, from camerawork to blocking to performance to stunts, etc.
